DESCRIPTION:

The culture and practice of law can compromise wellbeing because of its competitive nature, long hours and weight of responsibility. This session will outline the five recognised steps to improving wellbeing and explain why wellbeing matters because of the benefits it brings including greater self-esteem, optimism, resilience, greater motivation and creativity and very importantly, more productive work.

As well as knowing how to look after ourselves, it is also important to look out for others, including our colleagues and staff and consequently this session will talk about the benefits of a supportive legal community and the value of LawCare’s peer support programme.

To increase accessibility this session will run on the following dates:

Wednesday 25 April 2018

Wednesday 5 December 2018

The session will be delivered by Trish McLellan – Co-ordinator for Scotland and Northern Ireland, LawCare. LawCare is the charity that supports and promotes wellbeing in the legal community throughout the UK and Ireland.
