Ulster University Team Wins the Client Consultation Competition 2019
The Law Society of Northern Ireland is delighted to
announce that Ulster University (Magee) have won the Client Consultation Competition 2019.
Teams from the Institute of Professional Legal
Studies, Queens University and Ulster University at Magee, battled it out to
win the regional heat of the Client Consultation Competition.
The competition which has been successfully run by
the Law Society over the last number of years provides law students and
trainees with an opportunity to test their client communication and interview
skills in scenarios judged by practising and former solicitors.
The winning Ulster University Team members (Cole
Thomas Johnston and Nikita Short) will now proceed to the final of the Louis
M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition.
The competition will take place from 3rd-6th
April 2019 in Dublin, Ireland.
Commenting after the competition, Suzanne Rice, President of the Law Society said:
On behalf of the Law Society of Northern Ireland I wish to congratulate Cole and Nikita from Ulster University, Magee team on their win.
I would also like thank our other participant teams who took time out from their studies to make the competition as successful as in previous years.
Finally can I thank our judging panel, Colin Mitchell from MTB Solicitors/ Council member of the Law Society and Niall Hargan from Carson McDowell.
