Details

Date 18 Oct 2016
Time 14:00 - 16:00
Location Newry Conference Centre

Description

Tuesday 18th October 2016

2 – 4 pm

Moto cyclists have always been a common sight on our roads although in recent years there has also been a significant spike in the number of cyclists on our roads.

Statistically cyclists are now more likely to be involved in a road traffic collision than they would have been in previous years and together motor cyclists they are both extremely vulnerable road users.

This discussion will discuss obligations, costs involved, types of injuries sustained by both road users, evidence required to prove a case and the quantification of damages.

Speakers: Geoff Liffey (CEO Cycle Ireland), Trevor Kirke ( NI co-ordinator of “BikeSafe” project), Mr Russell McLaughlin ( Accident and Emergency Consultant Ulster Hospital) and Mr Marcus Donaldson Barrister at Law.
