Students Become Legal Eagles for the Day

Students from Ballyclare High School became ‘legal eagles’ for the day at Belfast Court House yesterday after taking part in a unique mock trial.

Over thirty students took part in the mock trial which had been organised by Ballyclare High School and solicitor Donna Thompson and supported by the Law Society.

Also in attendance was the Childrens Commissioner, Patricia Lewsley as well as Judge Patricia Smyth who oversaw the trial.

Mr Brian Speers, Junior Vice President congratulated the students and the teaching staff on their hard work and dedication. He also paid tribute to Donna Thompson for her considerable work in making the day such a success.
