Solicitors aim for swinging success in charity golf day

The Belfast Solicitors’ Association (BSA) has launched its annual Golf Day with mental health in mind. This year’s chosen charity, Inspire wellbeing (formerly Niamh), is one of the longest established mental health and learning disability charities in Northern Ireland.

On the 18th May in Malone Golf Club all the budding Sergio Garcias will take to the fairway to raise munch needed funds for inspire and to have a great day of golf. As an extra bit of encouragement Traction Finance have kindly offered a Fiat Abarth 595 convertible as a prize for a hole in one on the day.

Speaking at the launch of the event Eoghan McKenna, Chair of Belfast Solicitors’ Association encouraged people to sign up for what is sure to be a most enjoyable occasion. “We In the BSA are anxious to assist our 2017 charity partner, Inspire, in their crucial endeavours in the times ahead and we are appreciative to all for their assistance in doing so. Our golf day at Malone is always a fantastic day on a great course and all monies raise will go to such a great cause. I also have to thank Traction Finance for raising the competitive spirit with the added incentive of a convertible for a hole in one.”

Paul McGuire, Managing Director form Traction Finance added

“We’re proud to support Belfast Solicitors’ Association because, as a local SME ourselves, we want to recognise and celebrate the great contribution of Association members to our community as well as the valuable work of the Association itself. That’s why we’ll be on hand on the 18th May to not just enjoy a great day’s golf together but to help support fundraising for inspire. We hope that the car we are providing really encourages participation – one lucky golfer could be driving in more ways than one at the event!”

The BSA’s chosen charity that will benefit from the event - Inspire -focuses on promoting wellbeing for all through its mental health, learning disability and workplace/student counselling services across Ireland.

Nuala Dalcz, Director of External Affairs at inspire expressed her gratitude.

“This golf day marks the first event of the BSA and inspire charity relationship. We are so grateful to all in the Association for their support and commitment to mental wellbeing. Not only are they helping raise much needed funds but they are also starting a conversation about mental health and encouraging others to do the same. A huge thanks to Paul and the team and Traction also for such a generous gesture.”

Inspire’s Mental Health and Learning Disability services provide community-based day support, accommodation and advocacy services in communities across Ireland. Their Workplaces and Students services also provide expert advice and counselling support to over 1million people.
