Society announces new partnership
with Institute of Legal Finance & Management (ILFM)
The Law Society of Northern
Ireland has announced the launch of a new partnership with the Institute of Legal Finance & Management (ILFM) which aims to provide
professional support and accredited training to finance and support staff
working within local solicitor firms.
The ILFM is the only UK
professional body providing qualifications, training, knowledge, support, and
information for anyone working in legal finance and in legal practice
management.
They are widely acknowledged
as the primary resource of choice for thousands of leading professionals in the
legal sector, including many considering a new career in the legal sector.
Their members include legal
cashiers/bookkeepers, accounts managers, practice managers and sole
practitioners and they offer recognised professional qualifications, regular
training days on issues relevant to the industry, regulatory information and
many support features and services, including an industry journal.
The ILFM itself has recently
partnered with the Institute of
Legal Secretaries and PAs (ILSPA) to
provide end to end training and professional development for all support staff
working in solicitor firms.
Commenting on the new
partnership, Alison Grundle, Head of Member Services said:

the new partnership with ILFM which will offer local solicitor firms the
opportunity to provide dedicated professional development to their support
staff. The new partnership reflects the Society’s ongoing commitment to
supporting local solicitor firms and I would encourage all to sign up for the
information/launch event.’
Laura McCullough, Head of Professional Conduct said:
“I welcome the new
partnership which offers an invaluable opportunity to all solicitor firms and
their staff in developing skills, updating knowledge and helping to reduce the
risk of non-compliance. The Professional Conduct Department have worked closely
with ILFM to deliver this bespoke training focusing on the Solicitors Accounts
Regulations 2014 and their application within practice”.

The new partnership will be
officially launched as part of an free online information event on 12th
September at 12.30pm.
