Risks of cyber-attacks on legal profession highlighted
Over
90 members of the solicitor profession in Northern Ireland attended Law Society
House in Belfast this week to discuss the increasing risk posed by
cyber-attacks on the legal sector.
The cyber
awareness event, which was organised by the Law Society of Northern Ireland in
partnership with renowned cyber security leaders, Nihon Cyber Defence and
Vertical Structure.
The
event provided a platform to showcase the risks posed and how best to respond
to the increasing cyber threats.
The
event included presentations from Alison Grundle, Head of Member Services, Law Society of Northern
Ireland, Dougie Grant, Senior Incident Coordinator at Nihon Cyber Defence and
Simon Whitaker, CEO of Vertical Structure.
Speaking after the event
Alison Grundle, Head of Member Services, Law Society of Northern Ireland said:
“The Society is
delighted to have hosted this important event in partnership with two of
Northern Ireland's leading cyber security companies to provide a much-needed
platform to enable solicitors to understand the threats to the viability of
their business and clients also”.
A further series of
cyber events is planned in support of the legal profession in Northern Ireland.
