Ransomware warning - be vigilant

Members should be aware of the reports in the media this morning regarding Ransomware targeting businesses and organisations.

Ransomware is a type of malware which ‘locks’ the files on a computer and then demands payment to unlock them.

Ransomware attacks are launched via email and are a major threat to your data.
They have the potential to cause significant damage and loss of important data.

It is critically important that you and all of your staff are aware of what Ransomware looks like and how to protect against it.

Queens University have provided some excellent guidance and advice on this issue.
