President comments on passing of John Leckey

“It was with great sadness that the Law Society of Northern Ireland learned of the passing of John Leckey.

John Leckey will be remembered for his commitment to public service in his role of Coroner for Northern Ireland.

John was admitted as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1974 and spent the greater part of his career in private practice in the firm of John McKee & Son.

John was appointed to the office of Coroner in 1988 and became Northern Ireland’s Senior Coroner until his retirement in 2015.

The Law Society of Northern Ireland extend our sincere condolences to John’s wife Janet and her family”.

Rowan White
