It is with deep regret that the Law Society of Northern Ireland notifies members of the passing of Louise Craig (née Taylor) on 5th October 2022.
Louise was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland in 1992 and was an apprentice, solicitor, and partner in McKinty and Wright solicitors.
After leaving private practice in 2012, Louise worked supporting vulnerable children and young people.
As a policy adviser to the NSPCC, she developed recommendations for protections for child witnesses and this research formed part of her MSc degree in Youth Justice.
She also worked as a counsellor with Childline and volunteered with Victim Support, familiarising child witnesses with the legal process and providing support to them at trial in both the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court.
The Law Society of Northern Ireland offers its deepest condolences to her family, colleagues and friends.
A Service of Thanksgiving was held in St. Columba's Parish Church, Kings Road, Belfast, BT5 6JG on Sunday 9th October 2022.
