Passing of Brian Garrett, Solicitor
It is with regret that the Law Society of Northern Ireland notifies members of the passing of Brian Garrett, Solicitor on 7th November 2023.
Mr Garrett was admitted to the Roll in November 1966.
He had previously been a partner in Elliott Duffy Garrett in Belfast City Centre.
Born in Belfast in 1937 he was educated at Methodist College and Queen's University Belfast.
Brian was Chairman, Northern Ireland Labour Party, 1972-74 and a visiting Fellow (1977-78) Center for International Affairs, Harvard University.
He served as a member of the Northern Ireland Standing Advisory Commission on Human Rights, and on various committees of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
The Law Society of Northern Ireland offers its condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends.

6-9pm and Saturday 11th November, 3-8pm.
Funeral Service,
12.00 Noon, Monday 13th November, St Jude’s, Church of Ireland, Ormeau Road.
Followed by cremation at Newtownabbey Crematorium, family only.
