'Norn - Iron man' challenge in aid of charity
Two teams of
solicitors from Northern and Southern Ireland are set to undertake the most exhaustive physical challenges in support of their colleagues.
The 6 solicitors
will be participating in the inaugural Iron Law Triathlon challenge
which will encompass three provinces, six counties and at least six border
crossings over the course of one day.
The team
representing the Law Society of Northern Ireland will include solicitors, Peter
Jack from RG Connell & Son in Limavady, Darren Toombs from
Carson McDowell in Belfast and Adam Wood from Campbell & Haughey
Solicitors Ltd in Lurgan.
As part of the race,
Peter will swim Lough Melvin, Darren will cycle from Garrison, Fermanagh to
Maynooth and Adam will complete the challenge by running from Maynooth to
Blackhall Place via Phoenix Park.
They will be
competing against the team representing the Law Society of Ireland.
All proceeds from
the competition will go towards supporting the work of the Solicitors’
Benevolent Association (SBA) which helps solicitors and their families who are
experiencing difficult times.
Commenting the
President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, Suzanne Rice said;
“We are
delighted to support Darren, Adam and Peter and we wish them the very best as
they seek to undertake this challenge in support of the Solicitors’ Benevolent
Association (SBA). I wish to encourage as many as possible to support our team,
make a donation and cheer the boys on to bring home the trophy”.
