Nominations for Dispute Resolution Panel

Single Electricity Market Capacity Market Code (“CMC”)

In their joint capacity as Market Operator pursuant to the CMC, SONI and EirGrid are inviting interest from persons who may wish to fill a vacancy which has recently arisen on the Dispute Resolution Panel maintained pursuant to the CMC.

The CMC provides for disputes between its parties to be referred for settlement at first instance to a Dispute Resolution Board. The detailed procedures are set out in the CMC, but in summary, there is a mandatory referral to a Disputes Resolution Board consisting of one or three members, drawn from a panel of ten that is required to be maintained by the Market Operator.

It is the obligation of the Market Operator to maintain the Dispute Resolution Panel and ensure any vacancies are filled as soon as is practicable. Principally members are required to be familiar with alternative dispute resolution procedures and either have an understanding of the electricity industry or be able to acquire the necessary knowledge. There is no obligation to respond, but if you are interested in becoming a member of the Dispute Resolution Panel, we would be most grateful if you could provide a CV along with the following information:

·         Name

·         Occupation

·         Qualifications followed by short synopsis

·         Relevant professional experience (yes/no) in the following areas:

o   Alternative Dispute Resolution

o   Electricity Industry

o   Construction Industry

o   Legal Experience

o   Legal Qualification

o   Engineering Qualification
