New President of the Law Society

Imelda McMillan becomes new Law Society President

 

The Law Society of Northern Ireland has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Imelda McMillan as its new President.

Speaking after her appointment as President, Mrs McMillan said:

“It is indeed an honour and privilege to have been appointed as President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland for 2012.

I look forward to working with the Presidential and Chief Executive team in addressing the challenges and realising the opportunities which present themselves to the solicitor profession in Northern Ireland.

As President I will continue to promote the invaluable work that solicitors undertake as employers and businesses contributing to the national economy and as service providers providing legal advice to clients including the most vulnerable in our community.

Mrs McMillan is a senior partner in O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors and who was confirmed as the new President following the Society’s Annual General Meeting which took place at Law Society House on Wednesday 30th November 2012.
