Mentoring Programme 2018 - Call For Mentees And Mentors

Mentoring is a developmental partnership through which a Mentor shares knowledge, skills, information and perspective to foster the personal and professional growth of a Mentee. It is a partnership between two people usually working in a related profession or sector with similar experiences and is a relationship based upon trust and respect.

Mentoring Programme 2018

The 12 month 2017 Mentoring Programme has just been completed and we are now moving into the fifth year of this successful programme.

We have already recruited and trained a number of senior female and male Mentors, all of whom have achieved strong career success within the legal profession. They will share their experiences, knowledge and skills to assist the Mentee in career development, problem solving, building confidence and expanding career enhancing networks. The Mentor will offer valuable knowledge, empathy and insight gained from their own experience.

Mentees will be required to take ownership of their Mentoring experience and will be encouraged to be active, curious, open to challenge and willing to stretch development and learning beyond their current comfort zone.

Mentees will gain:

o A confidential sounding board;

o An opportunity to improve professional and personal networks;

o Support to increase confidence;

o Assistance in building knowledge, developing skills and competencies which will enhance career opportunities.

What you need to do:

If you would like further information on becoming a Mentee or a Mentor please contact Susan Duffy, CPD Co-ordinator at susan.duffy@lawsoc-ni.org

Please note that Mentor and Mentee training has been scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday 28th March 2018 in Law Society House Belfast. It is expected that all Mentees and new Mentors will attend this training.
