Local Solicitors Firm Raises £6000 for Hearing Charity

A Belfast solicitors firm has rasied over £6,000 for a local charity specialising in supporting parents of children with hearing difficulties.

The “Hearing Hub Deaf Children’s Society Newtownabbey” was set up in July 2012 as a direct result of lack of funding and support to parents of children with hearing difficulties in the Newtownabbey area.

In response a fundraising event was arranged at Europa Hotel in September 2012 awith many from the legal profession attending the event.

Speaking after the event, Andrea McKenna from Lacey Solicitors paid tribute to those who had attended:

"My special thanks to all those local Solicitor firms who generously donated. A total sum of £6000.00 was raised on the evening and every penny has been donated to the Hearing Hub Deaf Children’s Society (Newtownabbey Branch). This money will be used to provide sign classes for the children and their families, speech therapy classes and help them arrange a Christmas Party. Thanks again for all your support and special thanks to our President Imelda McMillan for being so supportive from the outset".
