Lawscot COP 26 conference timely platform for legal profession
The
President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, Rowan White, and a Society
delegation will be attending the Lawscot – Cop26 Conference taking
place in Edinburgh on Friday 29th October 2021.
The
conference is being hosted by the Law Society of Scotland in partnership with
the Law Societies of Northern Ireland and England and Wales.
The
theme of the conference is “Lawyers and Climate Change: Leaders or
followers?”
Those
attending will have the opportunity to hear from several keynote speakers,
participate in workshops and discuss the role of lawyers as trusted advisors
and what lawyers can do to positively influence their clients on climate
change.
Commenting, the President of the Law Society of Northern
Ireland, Rowan White said:

and contributor to the workshops and discussions. This conference is both
timely and important in providing a platform for the
legal profession to discuss those climate change issues which will have a
significant impact on them and their clients”.
The
conference is taking place on the eve of the important ‘UN Climate Change
Conference of the Parties 2021 (COP26)’ in Glasgow which will be attended
by world leaders.
