Law Society Teams Running for Northern Ireland Hospice

Dear colleague

On Monday 5th May 2014, two teams of runners from the Law Society of Northern Ireland, including myself, will be participating alongside 17,500 runners in the Belfast City Marathon.

As they say "no pain, no gain"! Accordingly our two relay teams will be running in support of the Society’s chosen charity of the year, the Northern Ireland Hospice to help raise money for their current campaign to rebuild Somerton House.

Colleagues will be familiar with the work of the Northern Ireland Hospice over the last 30 years as it has cared for thousands of terminally ill patients.

The current Somerton House is now old and no longer able to provide the care that people living with cancer and other terminal illnesses need.

A new Somerton House is needed and the Law Society of Northern Ireland is lending its support to raise much needed funds for the construction of a new building.

Five Law Society runners in each of two teams will run the 6 miles, 3.75 miles, 7.1 miles, 5.3 miles and 4.05 miles through the streets of North, South, East and West of the Belfast City.

As President I am asking for your support to sponsor the two teams as they take part in the Belfast City Marathon.

All you have to do is visit:

Go to the donate button and simply follow the steps to donate whatever amount you wish.

I would encourage colleagues and solicitor firms across Northern Ireland to give generously for this very worthy charity.

RICHARD PALMER

President
