International Women's Day with Legal Women UK in Northern Ireland

Date 05 Mar 2024
Time 17:30 - 20:00
Location The Law Society of Northern Ireland

Inspire Inclusion is the theme for the 2024 International Women’s Day.  We are delighted to mark this by hearing from The Right Honourable Dame Siobhan Keegan, the first woman ever to hold the post of Lady Chief Justice in Northern Ireland.  Lady Keegan’s exceptional career started in 1994 with admission to the Bar of Northern Ireland.

She was appointed QC in 2006 and as a High Court Judge in 2015 together with The Honourable Madam Justice McBride.

These were the first appointments of women to the High Court in Northern Ireland.  LCJ Keegan will reflect on inclusion in the profession, how far we’ve come, how to ensure progress continues and what we can all do to develop an inclusive profession for the 21st century.  She will talk to Coral Hill, Founder and editor-in-chief of Legal Women.

We shoulder responsibility for change as a profession and all lawyers, men and women, are most welcome to attend. (Tuesday 5th March)
