Intellectual Property Series - An Overview

14 Apr 2016
13:00 - 14:30
Law Society House, Belfast See Details

In today’s corporate environment there is an ever increasing commercial value ascribed to Intellectual Property (IP), whether in relation to a company’s brand or as part of a business acquisition. Additionally, the exponential growth of technology and the development of the internet gives hugely increased scope for IP licensing – as well as IP infringement. Clients increasingly need to be advised as to how they protect their IP, while at the same time exposing it to the marketplace for monetisation.
This session will:
- explain how to identify a client’s IP assets, and how to advise the client on required protection steps;

- identify practical steps to help clients monetise their IP products, while continuing to protect their IP;

- look at a number of current Northern Ireland IP developments to track how best to look after and advise clients.
