Immigration Practitioners’ Group

Migrant Help have confirmed that all those in asylum accommodation will not be moved on at this current time, regardless of any change to their entitlement to accommodation, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A letter from the Parliamentary Under-Secretary to Immigration Compliance and the Courts, Chris Philp MP, to Red Cross confirms that all individuals who are in asylum accommodation at present will not be moved for the next three months and that this decision will be reviewed at the end of June 2020.

Queries have been raised as to whether this is on a case-by-case basis and whether the individuals in accommodation with precarious status will be informed of this. Confirmation is awaited in this regard.
