FinTrU Legal Reignite Programme

You will join FinTrU on 10th January 2022 and undertake an intensive, in-house training programme to fully prepare you for a Legal role within one of our growing project teams working for a Tier 1 Global Investment Bank.


The four week training programme with our inhouse specialist team will include;

  • Your FinTrU induction

  • Overview of the Financial Services industry, our clients and relevant products

  • Legal training with a focus on financial regulation and derivatives

  • Professional skills training to equip you for the dynamic environment of Financial Services

Further to the FinTrU Legal Reignite Programme, you will also be supported in your development with opportunities to undertake fully funded, relevant industry-recognised qualifications, including the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC).

Role Responsibilities


There are a variety of opportunities available with FinTrU across our Business As Usual and Projects teams.  Responsibilities can include any of the following:

  • Drafting, negotiating and arranging for the execution of a wide range of legal trading documentation to facilitate trading in line with current financial regulations

  • Liaising with trading desks, client relationship teams, risk management and specialist legal teams to resolve various derivatives-related issues

  • Carrying out legal capacity and authority due diligence checks

  • Reviewing and implementing advice from collateral netting and legal opinions

  • Working closely with relevant stakeholders on client launches and priorities to ensure timely execution of all trading documentation

  • Liaising with the appropriate teams to ensure trading accounts are activated and ready to meet Day-1 trading requirements

  • Liaising with local counsel in multiple jurisdictions

Essential Experience

  • Undergraduate degree is essential, preferably in Law

  • Minimum of two years’ experience of working within professional services, preferably with a law firm, investment bank, asset manager, stock exchange, debt collection agency, clearing house or depositary (either in-house or through a third party intermediary)

  • Experience working within a structured, project-driven role following a complex process guide or manual

  • Language skills are desirable, especially Spanish, German, Italian or French

Person Specification

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and ability to work without supervision

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment and to excel in working to deadlines

  • Attention to detail and high-quality standards of documentation

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written

  • Organised and structured approach

  • Focused on quality of output as well as speed of delivery
