Expert Evidence: Getting it right
Inaugural Conference of the Law Society of Northern Ireland Clinical Negligence Practitioner’s Group (LSNICNPG)
Law Society House in Belfast was the venue for the Inaugural Conference of the Law Society of Northern Ireland Clinical Negligence Practitioner’s Group (LSNICNPG) held on the 4th December 2019.
The aim of the conference was to provide to colleagues both medical and legal updates from key note speakers and to offer invaluable information and guidance for practitioners in this specialist area.
The key-note speakers at the conference included:

Mr Phillip O'Connor, Consultant in Accident & Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine at the Regional Trauma Unit in the Royal Victoria Hospital,
Jacqueline McAleese, Partner, Carson McDowell,
Dr Kieran McGlade, General Practitioner, Belfast,
Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran,
Mark Harvey, Assistant Chief Legal Adviser, Directorate of Legal Services
The first presentation was delivered by Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, St George’s University of London.
This was followed by a series of joint presentations, shared between a doctor and a lawyer, will consider the commissioning and review of expert evidence.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear on the management of expert evidence during the lifetime of the case.
