This notice is for existing applicants to the Panel. Please note that there is no function with the on-line application form to save and return at a later point to complete.

2.1. Solicitors wishing to be re-accredited to the Society’s Children Order Panel are invited to make application on or before 4pm on Friday 10th September 2021.

2.2. If you do not re-apply, your existing accreditation to the Panel will lapse automatically on 1st November 2021.

2.3. To summarise the requirements, you are eligible to apply for re-accreditation if you:

(i)         are an existing Panel member;

(ii)        are in private practice and have a Practising Certificate issued by the Law Society of Northern Ireland at the date of re-accreditation (1st November 2021);

(iii)       submit the re-accreditation questionnaire detailing your experience and updated training as a Panel solicitor in the last three years;

(iv)       can demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge gained by       representing parties in either public or private law proceedings under the Children Order (NI) 1995 or under the Children Act 1989 (if appropriate);

(v)        can demonstrate relevant training and private study;

(vi)       agree to provide references as required;

(vii)      are registered with the Criminal Justice Secure Mail (CJSM) system or

            there are exceptional circumstances as to why you are not registered;

(viii)     pay the fee of £125 by BACS to the Society with the submission of your application. Details are below.

2.4. It is preferable that applications be submitted online by using the link below:

You must log in to the Members Section of the website to access the documentation. 

2.5. The Regulations, Procedures, forms and a general guide are also available in the Members Section of the website. 

2.6. The form must be submitted on-line or received in hard copy by the Society by 4.00pm on Friday 10th September 2021. 

A late application will not be accepted. 

2.7. Payment of the £125 fee to the Law Society of Northern Ireland must be made by BACS. Details are below.

Solicitors are reminded that it is their responsibility to notify the Children Order Panel Accreditation Board of any change in circumstances or change in contact details during the period of their membership of the Children Order Panel.
