Energy Performance of Buildings Legislation ( Epb )

Energy Performance of Buildings Legislation ( EPB ) involves the procurement of an Energy Performance Certificate  ( EPC ) for premises which have been built, sold, leased or rented. There are several groupings with responsibilities and duties under this legislation and solicitors ; because of their unique position in the conveyancing process, are well placed to advise their clients on how to comply with the law.

The legislation is being enforced by Local Authorities here in Northern Ireland. There is a framework which has been set up around the country to assist with the enforcement of this legislation and Belfast City Council is the employing authority.  The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors fully support this legislation and are committed to assisting in the enforcement of the procurement of EPC's for the relevant properties.

Belfast City Council have organised several presentations/clinics in several centres throughout Northern Ireland to explain the process.

Details of the venues and events are downloadable by clicking here.
