CJI Consultation

CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSPECTION NORTHERN IRELAND (CJI) CONSULTATION ON THE FREE PROVISION OF PERIOD PRODUCTS

CJI is a Department of Justice arm’s length body and specified public service body under Section 2 the Period Products (Free Provision) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 (the Act), therefore we have a duty to ensure that free period products are easily obtainable in a way that respects dignity, privacy and confidentiality on our premises for anyone who needs to use them.

While regulations have yet to be made, we are aiming to meet our obligations by 12 May 2024. In advance we must carry out a consultation with our own staff and with product users on our arrangements to provide free period products. As an organisation whose staff would be on our premises from time to time; it is important that we consult with you on the arrangements we are considering to meet our obligations under the Act.

To help us do that, I would be grateful if you would complete and return the attached questionnaire by 28 March 2024. You can e-mail it to us at info@cjini.org or if you prefer send it to us by post at the address below.

I would be grateful if you would take the time to respond to our brief survey for yourself as an individual or on behalf of your organisation and thank you in anticipation.
