Canadian Judiciary Visit Law Society House

The Deputy Chief Justice for the State of Alberta, Canada was amongst a number of senior delegates visiting Law Society House in late July 2013.

 

The delegates including representative from the Alberta judiciary and Peace Programme representatives were visiting Law Society House at the invitation of the Presidential and Chief Executive team of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Their visit provided an opportunity to develop working relationships and to share good practise and professional experience between the two legal jurisdictions.

In attendance at the event was the Lord Chief Justice for Northern Ireland, Sir Declan Morgan and Presiding District Judge, Fiona Bagnall.

Commenting former President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, Norville Connolly said:

"We are delighted to welcome the judicial delegation from Alberta to Law Society House. Undoubtedly the seniority of the members of judiciary from Alberta visiting us reflects the growing importance of Northern Ireland as a legal jurisdiction around the world".
