BSA Present the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association with Trophy

The Belfast Solicitors Association (BSA) recently gifted the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association (DSBA) with a commemorative trophy on 27th September 2022 at Luttrellstown Castle Golf Club, County Dublin to mark the 50th Anniversary of the DSBA presenting the BSA with the BSA Chair chain of office in 1972. 

The Dublin Solicitors Bar Association is the largest representative Bar Association in Ireland and has always enjoyed strong links with the Belfast Solicitors Association.  The perpetual trophy will be presented to the annual DSBA “Golfer of the Year”. 

Eamon Shannon of Shannon O’Connor Solicitors and Chair of the DSBA Golf Society indicated, “we at the DSBA Golf Society are most grateful to the BSA for presenting us with a new perpetual trophy”.

Eoghan McKenna from MSM Law, Belfast who sponsored the trophy articulated, “I recall as BSA Chair one of my fondest memories was enjoying the link with the DSBA on various occasions.  I was always so impressed by the Dublin Solicitors generosity in relation to the gift of the BSA chain of office in 1972 and loved reading that impressive inscription many times as Chair.  I am delighted that there will now be a new formal link between our two great associations going forward”.

Diego Gallagher, President of the DSBA stated “We in the DSBA are absolutely thrilled that this years top prize (“Golfer of the Year”) will be a perpetual trophy which has been kindly sponsored by the BSA.  Our respective association go back a long time and I particularly want to reinvigorate our bonds especially with all the challenges that our great profession faces today”.

Paul Moylan, Chair of the BSA replied, “We are grateful for the strong links between the two association.  I would like to express my thanks on behalf of the BSA to Eoghan McKenna for the suggestion to mark this important anniversary and also for the associated sponsorship.  We are very thankful for the great hospitality and comradeship shown by the DSBA to the BSA and long may the link flourish”.

Ruairi Gillen, Treasurer of the BSA also attended at the event at Luttrellstown Castle Golf Club. The winner of the first DSBA Golfer of the Year trophy was Shea Cullen well done Shea!
