This session will deliver essential guidance to Ancillary Relief practitioners in the following areas:

  • Inheritances and pre-acquired assets;

  • The trend to include behaviour allegations in Core Issues;

  • The new Commercial hub and its role in AR.

This session will be delivered by Master Noreen Sweeney. Master Sweeney was called to the Bar in 1986 and appointed Master (Matrimonial) in April 2015. Before taking up appointment Master Sweeney had more than 25 years’ experience in Family Law and particularly the areas of Divorce and Ancillary Relief. She qualified as both a Family Law Mediator and a Civil and Employment Law Mediator and was a member of The Bar of Northern Ireland Mediation Steering Group.

Master Sweeney was part of the Review group tasked with reviewing Civil and Family Justice in Northern Ireland and is a member of the Shadow Family Justice Board.
