2024 Advanced Advocacy Course

The Law Society of Northern Ireland has offered its congratulations to the 26 solicitors who successfully completed the 2024 Advanced Advocacy Course.

The week ong course which took place at Law Society House in Belfast City Centre proved to be an outstanding success marking the welcome return of this favourite course amongst members.

Those undertaking were presented with their Certificate in Advanced Advocacy from The Law Society of Northern Ireland and National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) at dinner at the Hilton Hotel on Friday 6 September 2024.

The Society is grateful to the -

·        NITA members including Judge Christopher Whitten, Doris Cheng, Zol Rainey and Monique Carter who provided expert guidance and teaching to attendees.

·        Advanced Advocacy Course Working Group comprising Chair Maria McCloskey, Presiding District Judge (Magistrates' Courts) Steven Keown, Fiona Donnelly, , Stephen Scott, Andrew Mairs, Mark Scott, Ruairi Gillen, Clare Curran, Ciaran Maguire, Stephen McCourt, Denise Douglas, Dr Andrew Godden, Darren Patterson and Peter O’Brien.

·        Members of the medical and legal profession and Ronan Kelly and Donna Traynor whose expertise, dedication and professionalism make the course such a success.
 
Finally the Society and NITA paid tribute to Fiona Donnelly, former Chair of the Advanced Advocacy Course Working Group for her significant contribution to the Course over many years. Roll on next year!
