| The Writ is the monthly
journal of the Society. It is available in Adobe PDF format, which will
display the writ exactly as it is printed. To read the issues you will
need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If a month is not listed, then an archive copy is not available. To get Adobe
Acrobat Reader, see below.
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Many
will have this program already installed on their machines since it is
a widely recognised standard for distributing manuals for programs and
computer peripherals, such as printers, scanners, etc. Try clicking on
the links to the Writ issues below. If your computer displays the Writ
text, then you have Acrobat Reader installed and all is well. If a dialogue
box opens asking what program you want to use to read the Writ file, then
it is most likely that Acrobat Reader is not installed on your computer.
To
rectify the situation, click the 'Get Acrobat Reader' graphic below. This
will begin downloading the free installation program to wherever you want
on your computer - the Desktop is one of the most convenient places. When
the download is complete (it will take several minutes), disonnect from
the internet for the next stage. Click on the installation program to
install Reader. You can delete the installation program once it has done
its work. You will not need to do this again.
This will
take you to the Adobe download page. Remember it is the Reader
program you want from the list. Select the version for your operating
system.
